The word that should be used when describing the current and future state of journalism is changing.
On the surface it may look as though things are bad and are only going to get worse. Newsrooms are becoming more empty, newspapers are going up for sale with out any suitors looking to make the advance to owner. The most important thing to remember is that news will always be around. Maybe the physical newspapers will become a thing of the past, but there will always be the news and people will always thirst for it. My hope is that this blog will not talk about all the negative that is happening to the newspaper world, but I feel as though that is unavoidable. I want to give commentary on everything from newspaper sales to the future of the business. I want to help educate myself and others about how we are all going to come out on the otherside of this changing. It could be fun, and it will help me with my writing which is something I apparently need. Either way, I hope whoever reads this will enjoy it.
